At Camomile london we believe it is important to take care of our environment and wash all our items in the most Eco appropriate manner. Items such as bedding sheets and pillowcases must be washed regularly. However there is a miss conception that all washes need to be on a high 40 to 60 degrees wash. Our bedding is made from 100% cotton and we use no harmful chemical in our prints/dyes or finishings of our cloth. If you wash your sheets regularly at a 30 degrees wash with the use of bacteria attacking detergents your sheets will last longer and preform well.
Items such as quilts, comforters and padded cushions should be aired regularly rather than over washed. If you hang your quilt outside, away from direct sunlight, every other week you will notice how fresh and fluffy it keeps.
Duvet Cover/ Pillow case/ Fitted Sheet/ Flat Sheets
30 degrees cool wash, with similar colours. Use colour safe detergent, avoid detergents that have optical brighteners. Low tumble dry or line dry out of direct sunlight.
We recommend knotting opening ties together, closing button openings and turning printed duvet covers inside out before washing – which will stop other items entering the duvet and preserve print.
Hand Quilted Blankets/ Comforters
Delicate machine wash 30 degrees. Use colour safe detergent, avoid detergents that have optical brighteners.
Quilts must be washed on low drum speed as the hand stitching is very delicate. If the quilt is twisted on a fast drum speed wash then the hand quilting will undo as a result of the pressure on the stitch. Due to different drum speeds on individual machines please be cautious.
We recommend the larger sizes are Dry Cleaned due to the volume of the quilt. No Tumble dry, line dry, keep away from direct sunlight
Cotton filled reversible quilts
The natural cotton filling does not like excessive washing, we advise on hanging your blanket outside to air on a regular basis to help keep the cotton filling at its best.
When the quilt needs to be washed please wash on a delicate cool machine wash, 30 degrees. Use mild liquid detergent.
Quilt must be washed on low drum speed . If the quilt is twisted on a fast drum speed wash it can cause the cotton filling to break up and become lumpy. Due to different drum speeds on individual machines please be cautious.

Diamond Jacquard Blankets
Machine washable 40 degrees, wash with similar colours. Use colour safe detergent, avoid detergents that have optical brighteners. Do not tumble dry and avoid prolong periods in direct sunlight to stop colour fading.
Cushions/ Animals/ House Cushions
We advise to Dry clean, however can be hand washed using colour safe detergent. Gently squeeze out excess water with out wringing (twisting). Flat dry away from direct heat, or direct sunlight. No bleach and do not tumble dry.
Sleeping bag/ Bumpers
Delicate machine wash 30 degrees, no tumble dry, line dry, keep away from direct sunlight.
With our gauze bumpers once washed, the fabric will naturally crinkle, this is the nature of cotton muslin fabric. If you prefer a flatter look it can be achieved by lightly ironing.
Bumper Safety: Please ensure you check ties are secured regularly and remove bumper when child can sit unaided.
Swaddles

Moses basket bedding sets/ liners/ fitted sheets - Soft Gauze Cotton
Delicate machine cool wash 30 degrees, mild liquid detergent. No tumble dry, line dry. Wash with similar colours. Once washed the gauze fabric will naturally crinkle, this is the soft nature of cotton fabric. If you prefer a flatter look it can be achieved by lightly ironing.
Moses basket bedding sets/ liners/ fitted sheets - Printed /Check
Delicate machine cool wash 30 degrees, mild liquid detergent, no tumble dry for moses liner or moses quilt, line dry. The moses fitted sheet can be tumble dried on low heat if it is not quilted. Wash with similar colours.
Pyjamas
30 degrees cool wash, with similar colours. Use colour safe detergent, avoid detergents that have optical brighteners. Low tumble dry or line dry out of direct sunlight.
